Guzman y Gomez have clearly learned a lesson from its ill-fated attempts to conquer the American fast food market and have turned their sights on introducing Aussie-Mex to Mexico.
The move comes after investors vented their outrage at why the company was wasting resource in America when they could be fuelling the insatiable appetite Australians seem to have for their faux-Mexican slop.
We spoke to an industry insider who said the expansion into Mexico was a “stroke of genius”, adding,
“How many Mexicans do you think have had Aussie-Mex? It’s hard to think many in the huge country has had anything as scrumptious as a 90% rice burrito with meat that looks like it was pulled from an old army rations tin”
The news has obviously left investors ecstatic as many are preparing to benefit from the “slam dunk” move.
Even Epstein list all-star, President Donald Trump, has praised the move and urged Guzman y Gomez to make the Mexicans pay for the construction of their stores.
However, not everyone is so sure the expansion into Mexico is a good idea. With one investor telling The Times he’d actually been to Mexico and traditional Mexican was objectively better.
Of course, Guzman y Gomez has disregarded this sort of negativity and feels this won’t be anything like Pasta Cups failed expansion into Italy.
