The Toyota Camry Drivers Association of WA has slammed the City of Perth for imposing unrealistic expectations on its members by proposing an expanded 40kp/h zone in the City of Perth.
For decades, the TCDA has campaigned for a realistic speed limit of 5kp/h to help its members feel comfortable while driving.
A spokesperson for the TCDA told The Times,
“40? Why not just add a grid? And pit stops? And a big chequered flag waving every maniac to fly at break neck speeds around East and West Perth! Our drivers are already under enough pressure sponging up the road when people are trying to do 50! This is NOT a motorplex!!”
The City of Perth has told the TCDA that while they hear their concerns, they still had to produce a system of traffic flow conducive to productivity.
This angered the TCDA quite immensely. With one member telling The Times,
“They are already proposing a race track at Burswood, go and be productive on that! Hell will freeze over before any member of the TCDA feels pressured to apply that much force to our accelerators”
Checks out.
