Fuel companies apologise for price-gouging and promise fair prices over Easter

In a stunning turn of events, several fuel companies operating in Australia has released a joint statement apologising to the public for opportunistic price gouging since the start of the Iran conflict.

Essentially, everything Aussies suspected was going on was in fact going on. Including a comment about the slashing of the fuel excise where the spokesperson said,

“Yeah, you knew what was going on, when the Iran conflict started we apparently only had half a days worth of fuel so we had to raise prices, but when the excise was cut for 3 months we suddenly all have 3 months worth ha ha, so couldn’t take the hit, you got us!”

They went further than just apologising, they committed to do better,

“Not only do we admit to the lot but we will be offering fair prices over Easter and will operate with total transparency in the future. We will never let this happen again on our watch”

To right their wrongs, fuel companies have even announced that they will be rolling out a “pay what you feel as fair” system at regional servos who copped it the worst.

The news obviously has been met with some scepticism with many noting the date.
