The organisers of the ill-fated Fyre Festival have watched on with great interest as the events of the Perth Water Lantern Festival unravel.
An event run by a US company made a dog’s brekkie of the event by overselling tickets. This led paying customers to being turned away on the night and also caused unnecessary parking woes.
To make matters worse, only 4 food trucks serviced the hungry crowds which all in all made for a disappointing night to release rubbish into the lake.
Fyre Festival released the following statement to The Times,
“This could be a good chance for the Fyre Festival to regain some reputation after the last shitshow we put on. Surely we can do better. Plus when it comes to trashing pristine ecosystems we have form”
The Times can report that the Fyre Festival organisers have already put their application in to run the event next year.
We asked a disappointed punter who told The Times,
“Well they can’t do a worse job! To get my money’s worth I just drove down to Jackadder and threw my FOGO bins in, still not sure that was worth $50 but it’ll have to do for now”
Well said.
