There is a real buzz around Geraldton today after locals were told they would indeed be getting a local, convenient Costco in due course. Some locals are even running a wet rag over their favourite going-out HiVis to spruce up a bit. After all, Gero is really becoming something now.
Celebrations are likely to carry on into the night as locals lick their lips at all those bulk buy savings and cheap hotdogs – coming in about 2 years to Alkimos Central.
We spoke to a Gero boy who said it was about time the big end of town started looking out for regional WA. Adding,
“The regions don’t get much and It was pretty heartbreaking when we heard North Bunbury got one before South Geraldton. I got a feeling things are going to be OK. To celebrate I’m taking my 2nd cousin out for a burnout and carpark root”
Indeed, the round trip to Costco from Geraldton is a mere 8 hours which is water off a duck’s back to most regional dwellers.
A representative for Costco said the location was a no-brainer given the untapped consumer power of Gero. Adding,
“You have a lot of people in the construction industry in Geraldton who have a lot of money they want to spend. Typically that flows to pints and gear but we are looking to change that consumer behaviour and see them load up a 100 pack of toilet paper on the back of their Hilux. That’s the Costoco spirit!”
Amazing news for Gero.
