Forget high sulphur fuel, the salvation Aussie motorists need from the fuel crisis is coming from WA’s own Woodside who have long sought to cut out the middleman and sell crude oil directly to the public.
Some say the fuel standards have been relaxed too far, others are excited to fill their engines with considerably lower cost crude oil.
The proof of the fuelling will surely be in the mechanic pudding however an insider told The Times they are optimistic, adding,
“This is about giving Woodside what they want. Looking out for the little guy and in return the goliath Aussie public get some fuel that may or may not destroy their engines let along get any sort of meaningful combustion going, we really don’t know”
To make the deal even sweeter, motorists will only have to do a short detour to one of Woodside’s offshore oil processing ships to fill up.
Again, some whingers have said this isn’t optimal as the average car isn’t built for the treacherous voyage through open ocean. Woodside has a response for them,
“Fine, go on and pay $2.50 a litre then, or you can suck it up, get buoyant and cop our crude for about $1 a litre, your choice”
It seems like a no-brainer really.
Thankyou Woodside and thankyou to every level of Government who allowed this to happen.
