Inglewood Night Markets to rebrand as an elaborate boardwalk to secure needed funding

The Inglewood Night Markets alerted the community it would not go ahead this summer due to its funding being slashed by 40% this year.

However, a glimmer of hope, after the Night Markets had the idea of rebranding as something the City of Stirling would happily throw money at – an elaborate beach boardwalk.

The Night Market Boardwalk will stretch along Beaufort Street and connect with various avenues in the heart of Inglewood and then connecting to Trigg Beach… and the best part is it will only cost ratepayers $18.5 million.

We spoke to a hungry punter who said she couldn’t wait to experience the joys of the new format. Adding,

“Wooden planks, kids on eScooters, assorted signs pointing out wildlife that I’ll never see because of the human traffic scaring them off, yummo! Sounds delicious, way better than food I reckon”

While it may sound too good to be true there are some that say the Night Markets should retain their character as a place to support local food vendors who are experiencing brutal overheads from every corner of the cost-of-living shitdecahedron.

One punter told The Times,

“Call me a purist but I think a Night Market should at least have some food but if this is what they need to do to survive then so be it, that’s progress”

Indeed it is.
