A local man has declared he’s fed up with the lack of action on an enormous, gaping pothole outside his home.
Alas, the wheels of progress have turned slower than he’d like so he has taken a novel approach to getting the pothole fixed. He told The times,
“Instead of reporting a pothole, I told the Council someone had put in a pool without a necessary building permit. I could hear the wheels screeching on my street before I’d even put down the phone”
Alas, the plan backfired somewhat with the Council now deciding that given the size and depth of the pothole, they are prepared to grant retrospective permission however now a pool fence must be built.
We spoke to a neighbour who claims he is now being hit up for the works. Adding,
“That rotten bastard next door has pinned it all on me and now the Council says I need to install a pool fence on the unauthorised pool I allegedly built! Yes, my oversized ridiculous yank tank really helped with the construction of that pothole but I refuse to take ownership of it! Even if I’m planning a pool party once the suns out”
The Council in question says it’s a matter of public safety and they wouldn’t want to see any neighbourhood kids potentially fall into the pool.
Ironically, the fence will also solve the problem of cars getting their shit blown out however, as always, it comes down to who is going to cough up for it.
Ah, bureaucracy.
