Mining companies urged to utilise untapped oil reserves at bottom of Sodexo catering trays

The fuel crisis is set to hit the mining industry the hardest of all with small to medium sized miners already having to scale back operations after being unable to secure enough diesel.

So, the Australian Government has come up with an ingenious solution and asked mining companies to utilise the untapped oil reserves found on the bottom of catering trays in their mining camps. Particularly those who use Sodexo services.

A spokesperson for the Fuel Crisis division of the Government told The Times it was about using what you had at hand, adding,

“Let’s face it, it’s a near endless supply of oil and with a few minor tweaks to heavy duty equipment you could have the entire camp humming off the fat of the camp. Sodexo especially have a knack of finding the most god-awful greasy snags to serve up on BBQ night, that’s a start”

Most mining operations are already convinced this new energy source is a goer however some aren’t so sure. With one telling us,

“The old school boys on site won’t like this. They are the sort of men to swoop into the kitchen after service and ask to mop up the left-over oil with a loaf of bread. That’s the secret to their physiques and longevity in this game”

It’s a fair point but those repulsive mining beasts will have to learn to share with the heavy-duty machinery at least until this fuel crisis blows over.

If it ever does.
