The good people of Morley have partied long into the night after welcoming in 1996 in their glorious suburb.
The streets were packed with the top of the pops blockbuster Macarena by Los Del Rio and Wannabe by the Spice Girls.
Perfect music to bleach up your tips and spike them with hair gel so strong that a single radical strand could cut a diamond clean in half.
By all accounts the pingaz were off the chain too. We spoke to a reveller who said 1996 is going to be the year for Morley. Adding,
“Big things are happening, Galleria is being developed and just quietly I reckon Boans is going to sign back on as an anchor tenant, come on, the year of Morley!”
Another punter echoed the sentiment and said he believed Morley would tackle the challenges of the future with ease. Adding,
“I’m going all in on Holden, VHS tapes, heard rumours about DVDs but I don’t reckon people are going to wanna use them, and maybe even a Sizzler franchise, fast forward 30 years and I reckon I’ll be loaded”
While not everyone shared the same enthusiasm for the brave new world. With one Morley woman telling The Times that she wont be going to see Independence Day because it was just too unrealistic. Adding,
“America is such a well run, stable super power than the aliens could never get away with that sort of thing, please Hollywood make movies believable!”
Good luck son.
Documenting the Human Zoo is thirsty work, so if you enjoyed what you read how about buying Belle a beer, ay?
