Western Australian Premier Roger Cook has done what many SOR have dreamt of doing for years – escaping Kwinana.
Citing the need to be closer to work to run the country’s most important State, the Premier decided to buy up in the colourful West Perth. Notably, not close to Kwinana.
In fact, the journey is about 37km down the Kwinana Freeway which given the usual state of traffic is expected to take around 4-5 years.
A lesson the removalists he contracted learned that hard way as they had to call the Premier and let him know that his furniture will not be arriving at his new digs until sometime in 20230.
We spoke to a Perth infrastructure expert who said the dream of moving from Kwinana to the big smoke was alluring but people had to realise the reality of it. Adding,
“One does not simply commute from Kwinana to the City in a time fashion. You have to navigate Perth’s largest car park and that journey can take years”
The 5 Kwinana locals that WA’s media found that actually give a shit can relax given the Premier is unlikely to be out of Kwinana any time soon.
Happy days.
