Rotto’s Quokkas also preparing for a horrible day 2

Rottnest Island’s quokkas know all about horrible second days as they prepare for another wave of bored English tourists to arrive given they have so much free time now.

There are only so many brekkie buffets the Barmy Army can stuff their faces with so they have ventured out to our wonderful Rottnest Island.

Yesterday was just the start as what should’ve been day 3 of the cricket became day 1 of the quokka’s hell.

While the lacklustre weather may keep Australians away, it is absolute rolled gold gravy to the English tourists and the quokkas know it.

We spoke to a Rotto expert who said quokkas are known for their patience around tourists but even they have their limits, adding,

“There is only so many times their little ears can hear about how the marsupials are better in England or how 22 degrees is too bwoody hot for the bweach”

Rotto rangers are warning the English to keep their distance at all times given the quokka is known to “throw” its young at a Pom to get away from their limey, gasbagging. With a source telling us,

“The whole quokka throwing its young thing is a myth unless it comes to interacting with the English but who amongst us wouldn’t do the same? If that’s what it took?”

To help the quokkas get through today and the rest of the week, the little fellers have been shown Travis Head’s innings to lift their spirits.
