Tom Hanks chose GWS match as he was searching for a deserted location for Cast Away 2

Tom Hanks was spotted at the GWS v Hawthorn match yesterday much to the surprise of the handful of punters in attendance.

However, it wasn’t his love of AFL that drew him to the match, he was actually searching for a deserted location to film his highly anticipated Cast Away 2.

By all accounts, his eyes lit up at first when he described the attendance to be something like you’d expect at Epstein’s funeral. He told The Times,

“Oh man, GWS opening round, I thought it was going to be perfect for me and Wilson and I was right, we could’ve started filming right there and then. Are all footy games this scarcely populated?”

While celebrating the turnout, he was warned that GWS might create a strongly worded meme about him. To which he replied,

“I guess memes are better than crowd attendance, at least for me and Wilson anyway, what a wonderful day out”

Glad you had a good time Tom.
