Virgin confirms that while staffys are now permitted in its cabins, the owners will still be required to fly Jetstar

Virgin has sought to clarify its policy on allowing pets to fly with their owners inside the cabin after a rush of staffy owners attempted to book the tickets.

In a statement supplied exclusively to The Times, Virgin stated,

“We apologise for the confusion and getting the hopes up of all the owners of Staffordshire Terriers. Our policy is clear that the dog is welcome but they will still need to fly Jetstar, the way nature intended it”

A source close to the airline told The Times that it was really just a matter of safety. Adding,

“What happens when a staffy owners starts releasing their bladder and growling at other passengers? You know how they get, especially after a few airport Jacky Ds”

Some were quick to point out that this essentially means the humble staffy will be banned. However Virgin clarified,

“Staffy owners can nominate an eligible passenger to travel with the dog. Just as long as that passenger isn’t known at local dog parks as a menace to society”

I think we can all agree this is fundamentally a good thing.
