AC/DC have revealed they added the Perth leg of their tour so they could visit their iconic band members statue down in Fremantle before Main Roads seals off the port City from civilisation.
If they had waited to visit Perth in February then they’d have missed their chance, potentially forever, given the tendency of major Perth infrastructure projects to go a wee bit overtime.
The band know that despite having 2 months, they will still be rushed given the horrific state of every day traffic on Stirling or Canning Highway. A source close to the band told The Times,
“They are cutting it fine as it is, you know Metallica is still stuck on Stirling Highway on their way back from a day out at Rotto. If Angus and the boys haven’t vacated Fremantle by 1 February, they may be stuck there forever”
Some within the entertainment industry have called the pilgrimage foolish. Especially before their sold out shows in Perth over the next two days. A source telling The Times,
“Mate, there is going to be a quite a few angry fans if AC/DC get stuck down in Freo for the next decade and can’t make it back for their show. They are cutting it too fine! 2 months is about the average commute time to Freo these days”
Indeed. Let’s hope they can get a move on.
