The BOM has released an urgent weather warning to all competitors in the Avon Descent that there is a high likelihood of getting wet during the race.
Competitors who will tackle the raging rapids in small watercraft and kayaks should “prepare” for the likelihood of not remaining dry throughout the contest due to forecast downpour
We spoke to a source close to BOM who said that the competitors should take precautions, adding,
“Yeah with the amount of rain we’re expecting we can’t see how anyone tearing through that soup will not come into contact from the moisture in the sky”
Many competitors have said they are thankful for the warning and will now wear waterproof clothing during the competition. With one adding,
“I’ll probably leave the ol mobile phone on the shore now, maybe the airpods too, glad I got this warning in time to be honest”
On’ya BOM.
