In a move that no one saw coming, Basil Zempilas has declared himself the leader of the Federal Liberal Party after Peter “Spud” Dutton lost his seat in hilarious fashion tonight.
Although the WA State firebrand had not disclosed his intent early, that’s certainly no barrier for the man to put his hand up for leadership.
A Liberal insider told The Times,
“Look, can anyone name another Liberal? It was all Voldemort and looking back on it we are all thinking wtf – why did we let this go to the polls. He threatened to take working from home away, gross”
Whether the Australian branch of the Liberal Party accept Basil’s appointment remains to be seen. Although, with the unwavering support of the 7West and the fact not a single person knows another possible Lib leader, it’s possible.
What we can be sure of, is that if he does get the top job, Australia will host the Commonwealth Games every single time.
