The Perth Wildcats have signed NBA superstar Allen Iverson to be the team’s next point guard in an effort to fill the Cotton shaped hole on the court.
A source close to the deal said the star was persuaded to sign the contract after being enticed by Perth’s dry heat and being offered Cotton’s old key to the City. Adding,
“Wildcats have a fever and ex NBA players is the prescription. Sure Allen is on the older side for professional sport but he’ll still probably break a few ankles in the NBL. Well, he’d better for the money he’s getting”
Allen “The Answer” Iverson will get the following as part of the lucrative package:
- A permanent parking spot at Scarborough Beach
- VIP access to the Bunbury Farmers Market
- A mooring at Rotto
- West Coast Eagles membership
- Brunch with Basil Zempilas
- Access to Bondy’s bathroom at the top of the BankWest building
While many Wildcat fans are excited some have cast doubt that a 50 year old retired player is the right move. With one fan telling The Times,
“Look, I get the wisdom but could they have at least made a play for Charles Barkley? If we’re going to do this let’s do it right”
However, the sheer interest in having a player in A.I’s league will no doubt increase the public interest in the Wildcats.
