Clive Palmer has sensationally announced that he is the sole reason the Gold Coast Suns put together a winning game plan to defeat Flagmantle by one point last night at Perth Stadium.
A source close to the robust mining magnate told The Times,
“Clive fancies himself a real true blue Queenslander and he had no doubt in his mind that the boys had him in mind when facing off against his arch nemesises favourite team”
Not only does Clive have a general axe to grind against WA, he has a particular axe to grind against former Premier Mark McGowan who famously supports the purple team.
Clive also claims that he personally worked with Dimma to create the game plan. Using his skills as a dinosaur landscaper, ship builder, politics and High Court litigant to seal the deal. Our source continued,
“Clive knows a lot about losing, just look at his High Court and political record, so he basically had every contingent figured out. That’s how the Gold Coast managed to get up at the end of the day”
It’s certainly hard to argue with that logic. However, some doubt the man had any influence whatsoever. With many Westralians questioning whether he even is adored by Queensland as he claims.
Especially given his penchant for mass SMS spamming and matters of employee pay.
Perhaps we’ll never know the truth.
