Fate has dealt a cruel blow to the Gold Coast Suns who arrived in Perth today ahead of their finals clash against Flagmantle tomorrow.
While the team has taken every precaution they could, they could never plan for the absolute gridlock of Perth traffic after a day of extreme moisture.
We spoke to a source close to the Suns who told The Times Hardwick was spewin’,
“He just keeps asking WTF is wrong with everyone, he expected traffic to be a bit more congested but a complete stand still due to a bit of rain?”
Perth traffic experts are now saying they have serious doubts the team will make it to Perth Stadium by tomorrow evening given the forecast.
We spoke to one traffic analyst who told The Times,
“We have about 2 days solid of rain, so yeah, that gridlock isn’t going anywhere, I think they took Orrong Road too, rookie error, mate”
Indeed it is. We now have to wait to hear back from the AFL on whether Gold Coast forfeit or the game will be postponed.
