Little shops selling cheap dodgy fuel & expensive American snacks pop up over night

Little shops that seemingly only sell outrageously priced American snacks have pivoted into a new hustle after reading the room on the public’s fears over fuel availability.

Ever the market disruptors, these shops that you may or may not have frequented to take the edge off in the past have added a new line to their inventory: cheap counterfeit fuel.

We spoke to a man who for obvious reasons didn’t want to be named. He told The Times,

“If the public demands something, we’ll supply it. If the Government refuses to make something affordable we’ll slash our prices. It’s been our business model and cheap diesel and petrol are in big demand right now. Just please don’t firebomb us at the moment ha ha”

The impact has been immediate with one motorist saying he won’t shop for his fuel anywhere else. Adding,

“Mate, $1 a litre, that’s crazy, and some people say aw well it doesn’t really smell like proper fuel and I say, for $1 I don’t care ha ha, just get it in the tank”

Naturally, the Government has released a warning on the fuel being sold and advised they would crackdown on any shop caught selling it. With one official saying,

“When it comes to petrol of smokes, we eat first. That’s the rule. That’s why we go so hard on these little shops, it’s not due to potential harm it’s due to them getting between us and our bread”

Well, no one is particularly shocked by that.
