West End musical titan Andrew Lloyd Webber has run afoul of local Council regulations after bringing his CATS show to Perth.
It seems his unregistered and un-microchipped cast decided to head out and enjoy some sights today. Unfortunately for them, they roamed into a restricted cat zone in the City of South Perth.
A spokesperson for Webber told The Times that the director was furious at the fine. Adding,
“He was on the phone to the City of South Perth for hours asking them what they expected him to do! Crown Towers wasn’t exactly going to let him build a cat enclosure in the pool area and his cast had to get some exercise between shows!”
However, the laws apply to all cats no matter how famous or musically talented they may be. With a source close to the Council telling The Times,
“They don’t discriminate when it comes to the law. Even Modigliana was trapped and impounded after being caught visiting with Ratus on a cheeky romantic holiday”
Webber has since pleaded with his cast to stay within the Town of Victoria Park and not roam too far again to avoid further financial strain to the production.
Under local laws, cats may not roam freely in certain prohibited parks within the City in an effort to protect native fauna.
