Morley has made the extraordinary move of strapping down the entire Galleria Shopping Centre due to the very small chance Ex-Cyclone Narelle will come barrelling through Perth on a mission to destroy precious retail metropolises.
The operation took work crews several hours but by all accounts, straps were flicked and it was ascertained the iconic building wasn’t going anywhere.
We spoke to a building expert who said Galleria simply didn’t have the structural integrity to handle a cyclone. Adding,
“Some may think it’s a little overkill but honestly, Morley has gone through enough with the Markets burning down recently so they couldn’t handle another certified legend facing certain destruction. That baby is strapped down”
We went down to Galleria to ask anyone lurking around the building what they thought about the measures. One bloke told us,
“Smart, real smart, could you imagine waking up and finding Morley Galleria in your backyard, you’d be like, wtf! It’s a real possibility ay”
No doubt about that mate. No doubt about that.
