Last minute amendments to the Albanese Government’s new hate speech laws have been made following an appeal from Westralia.
Pursuant to the new amendment, anyone visiting WA will be required to pronounce the SOR hotspot as Co-burn as per the local dialect.
Any attempts to joke, sneer or otherwise denigrate the respectability of Cockburn will be met with harsh sanctions.
We spoke to a source close to the Federal Government who said it was about people showing respect to their host. Adding,
“The WA people are very clear about this and have no sense of humour for Eastern State cleanshirts coming here and making jokes about STIs or rubbing one out too vigorously”
WA has long pleaded with the East Coast to stop coming here and asking us what the deal with Cockburn is.
A key WA expert said that pronouncing the hard CK in Cockburn was tantamount to a slur. Adding,
“It’s just not done. Just like the weird faces that used to be there. Everyone knew it was a little bit fucked up but the polite thing to do is just accept they watched over us and get on with your life until they eat your soul”
Good news for Western Australia.
