The future of the State of Origin is in doubt today after the WA Health System admitted it couldn’t handle what the competition decided to throw at it last night.
Yes, just one extra ambulance and emergency admission was all it took to stretch the already overburdened system to its very limits.
We spoke to an insider who said it was very fortunate the two hammy scares didn’t require any attention or it would’ve been over. Adding,
“Funding. More. Now. You know when a single ambulance calls out almost sinks the entire ship we are in a bit of trouble”
We also spoke to a Western Australian fan who conceded while sympathetic to the defenders injury he didn’t think it was right,
“Glad Jacob is alright but we can’t have Victorians coming over and clogging up all our resource! What if my dipshit cousin needed a bed because he sent it in his 4WD at Tims Thickett?”
The State Government has refuted claims the Health System couldn’t handle the single injury at Origin. With a spokesperson saying,
“Let’s face it, you can treat busted ribs in a hospital corridor, what’s all the big fuss about? Origin was a great success and our Health System was well equipped for at least another broken ankle, maybe”
Well, that’s comforting.
