Aussie dad amazes son with fable of the mythical tax return

A Western Australian man has amazed his boy after treating him to a ripping yarn about an age where tax returns wandered the earth.

Young Tyler was captivated by his dad’s animated descriptions of what life was like before the Government clawed back the bogan lottery. He told The Times,

“Daddy was saying the Government would give you some of your money back and you’d blow it on gear or Bali holidays. He says those days are gone and they’ll never come back. He said it made Daddy sad”

After the detailed explanation Tyler asked his dad if he could take him to see a living tax return in the wild. His father told The Times,

“I didn’t want to let the boy down. It’s like the Mona Lisa, you wait in line at the Louvre for ages with a bunch of carnts and it ends up being really small and you wonder why you did that. I heard a mate at work got $30 bucks back but I wasn’t going to show my boy that”

In fact, most people are now enjoying the complete opposite after the low & middle income tax rebate was removed. Enter the age of the tax debt.

Anyone wanting to relive the golden age of the tax return is welcome to overpay tax but it just wouldn’t feel the same.

In the words of Bryan Adams, those days are gone forever, you should just let them go.
