Collingwood silence their critics by getting it done away from home

All eyes are on the mighty Collingwood tonight after overcoming the impossible burden of playing away from the MCG.

In a cruel twist of fate, the Wobblers had to travel all the way to Marvel Stadium in Docklands to scrape together a win against the mighty West Coast Eagles.

A Pies insider told The Times that their veteran stars needed to be managed during the travel but miraculously were fit to play, adding,

“Obviously they wanted to rest Pendles for this game. Sidebottom was touch and go as well. It’s quite a journey to the Docklands and not the kind of travel the Wobblers are used to. However the proof of the eating is in the pudding, 4 points baby!”

Leading AFL commentators have called for the VFL to compensate the Pies for this unecessary travel burden. With one source telling us,

“Pretty ordinary to make the Pies travel that far, especially given they are at the top of the ladder, the VFL used to stand for something! Absolutely disgraceful”

Let’s hope the Wobblers don’t have to embark on this kind of travel again this season!
