A Rockingham man who ventured into Perth CBD for a day of flag waving & chanting was left a little confused after he joined the City 2 Surf event by mistake.
We spoke to the man who said he’d had a gutful of the media labelling him as a racer after footage of him emerged in the race. He told The Times,
“I had a pretty good day but why did they make the march so fast? I won’t lie I thought it was going to be a bit more of a cruisy stroll but I was having to 6 minute kilometres just to keep up. If that makes me a racer so be it but I deny that strongly!”
Indeed, the man has spent most of his Monday morning correcting people who he believes mislabeled him. He continued,
“I posted a few photos of the march and that just made things worse. I would NEVER race. Then someone said I must be really dedicated to the cause because I raced in jeans and a cape! I told him I was gonna follow him home and have a chat about it”
