Eastern States visitors required to pay WA Day entry fee to fair up GST deal

Some say Western Australia gets more than enough GST revenue and some would say, give us more ya dogs.

If you are in the latter, odds are you’re a proud (and correct) Westralian citizen and the very topic of GST share pisses you right off.

Thankfully, the WA Government has taken measures into its own hands and imposed a special visitor levy for WA Day on eastern state’s tourists.

This long weekend, any visitor from NSW or Victoria will have to pay an extra 75c of every dollar they spend here to make things right. A Government spokesperson told The Times,

“We could wait around for Canberra to correct the wrongs of the past or we could just go straight to the source. After all, it’s Victorians who benefit from their unfair share, so we’re just taking it back”

The levy is expected to hit Essendon fans the hardest as they flock to WA to see the blockbuster of the season at Perth Stadium on Sunday.

It will also be a harsh blow to interstate relatives that plan to complain the entire time they are here because WA does things a bit differently to their shithole states.
