Overworked staff have reacted with surprise after hearing the news there was a fire in Fiona Stanley’s ICU that caused an evacuation.
One nurse told The Times that with the stress the public health system is under it always felt like they were putting out fires, metaphorically, adding,
“Do you think a fire even rates in the top 5 things that stress me out on a daily basis working in a hospital right now? I barely noticed if I’m honest”
Another doctor in the hospital said a fire related fuck-up was at least a change from the usual bullshit hampering their important work, adding,
“Change is as good as a holiday they say, boy do I need a holiday, it’s just one thing after another these days, have you seen that meme of the dog in the burning house? Yeah…”
Just a reminder to appreciate the hard work our health professionals do on a daily basis under trying conditions.
