The Gas Industry has been desperately trying to get assurances their own corporate welfare won’t be cut off after hearing about the NDIS reforms that could leave those who rely on the Government in the cold.
A source close to the gas industry said the alarm bells went off once they realised they’d be fucked without Government help, adding,
“Huge panic there’s no doubt about it. If the Government turned off the tap and even actually made them pay fair tax then their bottom line would be horrific, that’s no good for shareholder value!”
In response to the reforms, the Gas Industry is planning a campaign to remind the public that the Government’s role is to look after its most vulnerable – them. With our insider adding,
“A few less billion a year could mean some of their top executives won’t get to live the high life on Australia’s resource, that’s creating a lot of uncertainty as I’m sure you can appreciate”
On the flip side, many have called on the Gas Industry to fund the NDIS by paying 30% at a minimum. They have responded to this by whipping out a Nelson Mandella quote,
“A Nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but it’s gas ones”
Sounds about right.
