Paraguay are through to the next round of the men’s diving finals after scoring perfect 10s in their heat against Australia today.
One judge said the dives were so flawless he’d be very surprised if Paraguay didn’t take home gold at the next Olympics.
Adding,
“Perfect 10s are rare in this sport. It means every dive performed was the absolute epitome of what a dive should be. Remarkable technique.”
Fans watching the game said they were impressed by the performances but questioned whether Paraguay should have spent a little more time trying to play football and a little less time qualifying for the men’s diving finals.
Adding,
“It’s tough when you only need a draw to progress, but I can’t help thinking the crowd would’ve preferred if they spaced out those beautiful half-pike twists with a couple of goals or something. I dunno, I only started watching soccer 12 days ago.”
Nevertheless, despite receiving perfect 10s across the board, Paraguay couldn’t stop Australia finishing second in the group and booking a place in the knockout stage.
