Pharmacists servicing the Mandurah Canals given authority to prescribe little blue pills to ease GP load

In an attempt to ease the load of General Practitioners the WA Government has been empowering pharmacists to treat more common ailments.

As part of this policy, pharmacists servicing the Mandurah Canal area will be given authority to prescribe a very common drug in the retiree world – viagra.

It is thought that the policy will free up hundreds of GP appointments per week as frisky geriatrics can get their special medicine directly from the pharmacy after meeting certain criteria.

While this policy is controversial and unpopular with the AMA, most GP’s agree that they can certainly do without the “unsettling grins” of satisfied patients.

We spoke to a former GP who said he left Mandurah due to the retiree population making him feel queasy. Adding,

“It got pretty ripe in those consultation rooms at times. One feller would go into graphic detail about the acts he’d tried to participate in but couldn’t due to the ol’ feller not standing to attention. It was right before lunch. Let me tell you, do NOT step onto one of their boats”

Sound advice.
