WA announces BCF shirt buyback as fish ban set to decimate displays of boating incompetence

Western Australia has announced recreational demersal fishing on the west coast will be banned until the Spring of 2027.

As a result, many weekend warriors have decided to sell their boats given their complete lack of interest in any of the other hundreds of species of fish swimming in the ocean.

This naturally means the ol’ BCF shirt no longer has a place on their back. If they can’t cook their boat on a ramp, forget to put a bung in or fail to adequately anchor it, what’s the point?

Accordingly, the WA Government has announced a full buyback scheme of all BCF shirts. A source told The Times,

“Weekend warriors will get a full discount on their BCF shirts and a private number to a bloke in Border Force who may be able to take their boat off their hands for a tidy sum”

The news has done little to quell the raging tempest brewing in the hearts of demersal fishing devotees however.

With one telling The Times that he and his mate personally counted every single snapper in the ocean and concluded that the research must be wrong. He added,

“The BCF shirt is part of my identity but I just ain’t doing it justice if I don’t have to make an insurance claim at the end of my fishing trip. Stuff that!”

Tough times for BCF weekend warriors.
