The City of Perth is so excited to have another galactic traveller in their jurisdiction that they plan to honour Katy Perry with a statue commemorating her space journey.
The statue will take the form of her legendary “kiss the earth” gesture after being in space for less time than your average Space X rocket.
Naturally, it will go next to the existing space themed statue behind the Kangaroos in Stirling Gardens – aka Space Baz.
Named so due to the ex Lord Mayor’s passion for the statue because he believed it backed up his weird attempt to rebrand Perth the “City of Lights” or whatever.
Katy Perry’s people have reached out and told the City of Perth it is a touching gesture and an important step in acknowledging the role Katy has played in expanding the absurdity of recreational space travel.
More to follow.
