Karrinyup to place a Perth Cactus at exit of carpark so lost motorists know where to gather

Karrinyup Shopping Centre has thought of a novel way to help guide the souls of the damned out of the underground car park. Taking some inspiration from Perth’s very own enigmatic green cactus on Wellington Street.

For decades, the green cactus has served as a beacon in the CBD. An unmistakable green monstrosity that is clearly identifiable to the human eye. It has therefore become a key “gathering point” for Perth denizens wanting to brave the excitement rollercoaster of our City.

Karrinyup thought it could use a 2nd green cactus to serve as a landmark indicating the start of the car park exit. A place where motorists could gather with the shared view of freedom rather than roaming the depths of hell for eternity.

We spoke to a car park designer who said the idea had chop. Adding,

“Instead of thinking ‘how am I going to escape this labyrinthian nightmare’, motorists can say to each, ‘i’ll meet you at the green cactus and we’ll make our push for subterranean liberation together’, I think it’ll work”

Not everyone is sold on the idea. With some suggesting that the green cactus will simply serve to torment the lost. As they will have no chance of finding it either in the dark, winding retail parking catacombs. With one critic adding,

“You’d have to make it visible from the deep. If you can get over that hurdle it might work but I still think thousands of shoppers a day will begin their new life as twisted cavernous creatures feasting off food court carrion that is dropped down there”

No doubt that is a risk. Good luck all.
