Message in a bottle washed up on Esperance beach turns out to be an Optus customer trying to reach 000

The mystery of the bottle washed up on Wharton Beach has been solved after a man came forward and said it was the only way they could try and reach 000 given they are with Optus.

We spoke to the man who said it would’ve been easier to simply call but he had to do what he had to do. Adding,

“I received an email from Optus saying that if I was in an emergency my options were message in a bottle of carrier pigeon and my wife has a bit of a phobia towards birds, so bottle it was”

Optus has taken a different view of the discovery, even going so far as to herald it a success. Adding,

“What are people complaining about, his 000 note was received wasn’t it? Look, if you wanted reliable access to emergency services why don’t you go and start your own telecom company! Do you know how expensive this shit is?”

Luckily, the man survived his emergency and is quite stoked at the level of public interest in his note.
