Proposed Perth-Albany Train To Trail Behind Caravan Doing 80km/h To Give Tourists The Full Albany Commute Experience

The WA Government is considering bringing back the Perth to Albany train route as a juicy little bonus of its wider goal to bring the freight system back into public hands.

Naturally, the route will appeal to tourists who want to gawk at the beauty of our State while stuffing their faces with the delights of a train buffet.

So in the interest of giving said tourists the true Albany commute experience, the train will trail a caravan being towed by a 300 Series going 80km/h the entire way.

A spokesperson for the proposed project told The Times,

“They have to experience what it’s like to travel to and from Albany. Absolutely unbearable. We want to have a few interactive experiences where a little “overtaking” sign pops up and the caravaner speeds up to 120km/h to recreate another nuance of the experience”

Another little quirk will be to steal all the toilet paper from the train’s lavatories to provide them with another facet of what to expect if you really were trailing a caravan that say, popped into a servo to use the bathroom.

The Government said it was important that tourists left WA with a full & rich understanding of life here. So, this was “absolutely essential”

Well said.
