Rumours have been circulating that Justin Langer is the most likely candidate to be nominated as the next English Cricket Coach.
However, clearly no one asked the English what they thought and have declared Langer “unsuitable” to coach England due to his history of winning.
We spoke to an insider who said that kind of carry-on just wouldn’t fly, adding,
“Win? England? Why I never, this team has crafted a unique identity of getting pantsed and them claiming they won somehow, that’s what real winning looks like to us!”
Other insiders have said that Langer’s insistence on things like training, discipline and hard work also wouldn’t be a good fit for the team. With one source telling The Times,
“England aren’t here to take things seriously, look at the Jonny Bairstow stumping, England is the sort of team to just wander off their crease because they fancied a little stroll, does that sound like the sort of culture that would take kindly to discipline?”
It wouldn’t be the first time Langer has been the victim of his own success, with Cricket Australia also giving him the arse after mending the worst cricket culture we’ve had in decades and turning them into winners.
Best of luck England but you won’t be proceeding with Justin Langer.
