A rare black-headed gull has delighted bird watchers in Geraldton but has drawn the ire of One Nation’s leader Pauline Hanson.
Why you may ask? Well, the black-headed gull is not native to Australia and it thinks it can just fly in and build a nest that could’ve been built by native gulls.
Not on her watch.
Accordingly, Pauline Hanson has demanded the black-headed gull sell its nest within 2 years and then, ideally, go back to where it came from.
A source close to One Nation told The Times,
“The local gull population is angry and frankly blame the black-headed gull for all their problems right now. Like for example, cost of living means there aren’t as many chip buckets to raid, and we all know who to blame for that”
However, there is some tension within the party with Barnaby apparently “liking what he sees” and has asked Pauline to grant the bird asylum if she becomes PM because he could take a run at it.
We reached out to the gull for comment but it’s currently living like a rockstar and has no time for interviews.
