Western Australia is taking a zero-risk approach to all birds wishing to fly into WA amid concerns a bird flu outbreak could be occurring.
Unfortunately, the Adelaide Crows were caught up in this net after attempting to do just that this week. We spoke to a witness at Perth Airport who said shit got real, adding,
“As soon as they heard a plane full of crows were coming in hot they swarmed around the plane and sectioned it off, guys in full body HAZMAT suits came in and started scanning all of us with a temperature thingo and the Crows got escorted off”
The news will come as a relief to the native West Coast Eagles who admit the towering Adelaide forward line was causing them some bother. With one insider telling The Times,
“I’m not saying West Coast tipped off Border Force but a good result is a good result, I hear the boys will be taken to Bullsbrook for a holiday so everyone wins, especially us with the 4 points”
The Crows will be forced to quarantine until they can be safely cleared from carrying bird flu so will likely miss at least 6 weeks – dashing their chance at finals redemption.
By all accounts, the Crows have accepted their fate and are looking forward to the Bullsbrook holiday.
