AFL changes ARC review rule after costing West Coast the game in 100-point Saints smashing

In a rare show of wisdom, the AFL has decided to change the rule around ARC reviews after conceding that the decision yesterday cost West Coast Eagles the win in the 100-point smashing at the hands of the Saints.

Now, no ARC review can be requested if the game has restarted. However, a lot of West Coast fans are saying its too little, too late, with one telling The Times,

“If Marshall hadn’t been gifted that erroneous goal then the Eagles would’ve had the momentum, it would’ve been surge city, it would’ve been 4 points but noooooo”

While the decision was no doubt wrong there are some in the footy community who doubt the claims that it cost the Eagles the game. With one pundit telling The Times,

“Look you have hundreds of umpiring decisions that go for and against you in a 100 point loss, so there’s no real way to say, yes this was the decision that cost them the game, it could’ve been any other individual decision that sunk it for the Eagles”

Thank goodness that common sense has prevailed.
