Colesworth are not taking any chances to let a good price gouging opportunity pass them by after a case of bird flu was detected in Western Australia.
Despite no evidence of spread to poultry at this stage, Colesworth has made the tough decision to gouge the shit out of their customers already just in case.
An industry insider told The Times,
“Look it was either this of the Strait of Hormuz apparently on the brink of closing again and we thought this would be the easier sell. After all birds and eggs and all that”
Experts have slammed the move saying that there has been no disruption to the poultry industry yet so the price increases are not justified however an insider told us,
“Yeah but what if it does spread, we’d look pretty silly not jumping on the chance to make a quick buck sooner wouldn’t we? We’re a business not a charity”
Makes sense. Consumers can expect a price of a carton of eggs to hit $20 by the end of the year.
