New live police facial recognition cameras already gone missing from Midland Gate ahead of trial

Western Australian Police are scratching their heads this morning after the new fan-dangled live facial recognition cameras mysteriously disappeared from Midland Gate.

The cameras were part of the first trial of the technology at the Eastern Suburbs shopping hub and no doubt the police thought they were going to identify plenty people of interest there.

Of course, what they didn’t bank on was Midland going full Midland. Which Midland tends to do, dog.

A source close to the operation told The Times it was a mistake in retrospect,

“Our working theory is that our technology was beaten by a face mask and pair of speed dealers from the servo. Isn’t it funny, we could never get anyone to wear face masks in Midland during COVID but as soon as we announce these cameras, everyone is suddenly contagion conscious”

To remedy the situation, WA Police have announced a new raft of AI cameras that will have the sole goal of located their lost Midland cousin cameras.

Well done Midland.
