WA’s Cook Government has announced the 7 Cities Vision which aims to give our major regional hubs exactly what they need: a giant racetrack.
The enormous racetrack will go through Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, Gero, Bunbury, Albany and Kalgoorlie and will be purpose built for both V8s and road trains depending on the occasion.
A source close to the Government said the quality of track meant that emergency supplies could be sent between the cities using the raw power of a V8 Supercar. Adding,
“In case you didn’t know, a V8 Supercar is a fair bit faster than a dusty old truck, so not only will the track provide the regions with entertainment, but it could be used as vital supply chain infrastructure too”
Some within society are sceptical of the plan. Questioning why we need such a long racetrack connecting the regions. With one talkback radio type calling up to say the Pilbara should just be turned into one giant hospital. Adding,
“We have all this land out there and its doing nothing. Why not build a 500,000km² hospital!”
He raises a good point however, other punters say that a hospital is short sighted and the regions should be linked by the world’s largest cable car.
Something to think about.
