In highly unusual scenes, Cricket Australia has stormed the Court today and demanded the book be thrown at Cameron Bancroft after David Warner plead guilty to driving after a few vinos last year.
The NSW based Cricketing body said it took any off-field indiscretion seriously and it would be very disappointed if Bancroft was ever allowed to hold a driver’s licence again.
A source close to CA told The Times,
“Pretty ordinary from Cam, what was he thinking when Warner decided to run the ol gauntlet last Easter? Needless to say, CA is a little gutted with the Court decision”
Indeed, the Court only saw fit to suspend Bancroft’s driver’s licence or 6 months. A far cry from the lifetime ban that CA felt was more appropriate.
However, the Court felt it was a valid deterrent and hopefully Cam will think twice before Warner gets behind the wheel when he shouldn’t have again.
Justice served?
