The mighty somewhat dodgy Geelong footy club has had its finals dreams left in tatters after being informed that the Cats will not be exempt from WA bird flu protocol.
Given the risk of roaming cats spreading bird flu if they come into contact with an infected bird, all cats coming into WA must be contained at all times.
For Geelong this means its star Cats will have to spend their week in Bullsbrook and will not be permitted to roam freely on Friday night. A source close to the WA Government told The Times,
“We can’t risk the biosecurity of WA for a team that the entire nation is sick to death of seeing play Grand Finals, 4 points Fremantle”
The news was devastated the VFL but has shone like a mighty beacon of hope for increasingly anxious Flagmantle fans. With one telling The Times,
“It’s good the Government is taking our ecosystem’s health seriously. It’s also great we don’t have to pay that band of marauding felines who pose a threat to us all”
