An owner of a Kings Awning has been left absolutely stunned today after learning the piece of kit bolted to his 4WD permanently actually serves a purpose.
The man had owned the gear for several years but saw it as more of a fashion assessory, nay, a statement speaking to the kind of outdoor rugged individual he liked to view himself as.
We spoke to the man who was still trying to process the information he’d received,
“This man came up to me in the Bunnings car park and asked me if I ever had issues pulling it out, as he’d bought one recently and said it could be a little stiff at times”
“At first, I thought he was playing a prank on me but then another man chimed in and said Kings Awning are cheap beginner kit and you get what you pay for!”
The weekend warrior raced home to see for himself. Was there an extra level to his BCF’ing persona he’d not yet explored? Could his neighbours have been staring at a functioning awning all this time?
He proceeded to spend the next 6 hours trying to work it out before throwing a tanty for the ages. Or as his neighbour described it,
“I think the issue was he fundamentally didn’t understand what an awning was, so his attempts to pull it out were futile, it looked like a Zoolander trying to extract information from a computer”
Ah well, we all have to learn some time.
