News broke yesterday that the Freo Traffic Bridge was several months ahead of schedule and is expected before Christmas.
While this is fantastic news for anyone driving around the Freo area, it has put pressure on Perth to find new excuses to avoid visiting their Freo mates this silly season.
While not exactly Two Rocks, Fremantle has always been a somewhat inconvenient night out for people choosing to live closer to the Narrows. So, any extra inconvenience was reason enough to get out of heading down that way.
We spoke to Tim who said he was feeling the pressure, adding,
“Ugh, a mate of mine has been trying to get me down there for ages, I kept kicking the can down the road saying once the traffic and shit clear up, I’ll be right down, well look where we are, I’ve caught up to the bloody can”
Indeed it has. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel – skyrocketing fuel prices could deliver a reprieve to Perth.
Alternatively, go and visit your Freo mates, it’s actually pretty cool again, just try not to think about the $80 Uber or whatever heinous surcharge you cop after your annual night out there.
