Perth’s very own Scabs Beach has been given the enviable title of second-coming of the Bermuda Triangle. A title well earned over years of vehicles becoming sculptures on her soft sand.
The honour is especially welcomed in the community given the mystery surrounding the Bermuda Triangle disappearing itself. At least in folklore.
Growing up, one assumed that the Bermuda Triangle was up there with quicksand as the biggest threat you’re likely to face. Then, seemingly overnight, it was never heard about again.
Well, finally we have a replacement. Scabs Beach take a bow.
We spoke to a Scabs local who said the sand of Scabs Beach was known to play a siren song to hapless send-it-sailors. Adding,
“You never think you’ll be the next person to get bogged on Scabs Beach at night but once you hear that beautiful siren song, you just start drifting towards it. That’s when the beauty reveals itself as a succubus for tyres with inappropriate pressure”
How many more will be lured to the shore? No one can know for sure but unlike the actual Bermuda Triangle, Scabs will never stop feeding.
